Anax imperator is the biggest European
dragon-fly, whose length reaches 80 mm, and the length of the front wing
can be up to 50 mm. It usually lives from May till June, but sometimes
it can be encountered even in September near stagnant waters. It is a very
hard flyer which can be flying for several hours without a break. It is
a type which can be encountered all over the world.
